Try To Have Fun ||Levi X Reader||

"Come on guys, let's go see the ocean! The titans are finally gone, and we can finally explore!" Connie shouted to everyone that was around him. You looked up at the boy with a shaved head and smiled.

"Yeah, why don't we? We can finally relax and not have to worry about those damn titans anymore." You said. Everyone around you, including, Sasha, Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Hanji, and Erwin nodded their heads in agreement.

"I'd love to see the ocean finally, It's something I've always wanted to see." Armin said while smiling warmly. You looked over at Levi for approval.

"Please Levi?" You walked over to him and grabbed his hand tightly. "We finally won, you can relax now." He stared into your (e/c) eyes for a moment, before looking away and nodding. You chuckled and let go of his hand.

"So it's settled then! But there's only one problem..." Sasha paused and twiddled with her thumbs. "..Does anyone know where an ocean is?" Everyone groaned in annoyance except Erwin, who put his hand up.

"I pretty sure I've seen one when I went exploring on my own." Everyone sighed in relief.

"Let's get on our horses and go! I'm so excited~!" Hanji squealed. You chuckled as everyone followed the brunette outside.

You came up to your horse and pet it's muzzle softly. "You've served me well these past years, thank you so much, you can finally be an animal..." It leaned into your touch, as if it understood you. You chuckled and put one leg over it's back, then pushed yourself up. Levi came up next to you with his horse, and stared at you. You looked at him happily and grinned. There's no need to frown anymore, we can finally be happy again.. You reached your hand over and placed it on his shoulder.

"Come on Levi, why so serious? I thought I would actually see you smile." You teased. He rolled his eyes while pulling his shoulder back to make you let go of him. You pouted and started your horse forward. He watched you, as your horse trotted away. You decided to come up next to Erwin and ask him about the ocean.

"So Erwin.." You paused while you came up next to him with your horse. "What did the ocean look like? Does it really look like it does in the books?" He turned his head towards you and nodded.

"It does, but, it's a lot more breathtaking when you see for yourself." He smiled slightly and looked ahead of him. You sighed dreamily and gripped the reins of your horse tightly. "You should go accompany Levi, because if I were to guess, no one would want to be be him, he's ruining the mood." He pointed out.

"Oh okay.." You said while chuckling. You backed up your horse so you were next to Levi, and stared at him. He seemed to be different, he was staring at the neck of his horse and petting it gently, while whispering something inaudible. "Hey Levi, I'm going to accompany you on the journey, is that okay with you?" You asked. He looked up slowly and blinked a few times before answering.

"If that's what you want to do, be my guest." He said while looking back down. You rolled your eyes and led your horse closer to him.

"Alright! Make sure to stay close to me, I want to make sure none of you get lost while we are traveling!" Erwin shouted while he made his horse start to run. Hanji was next to him, squealing in excitement while clapping her hands. Sasha and Connie were on the left side, talking to each other about who knows what. Eren, Mikasa, Jean, and Armin were on the right side, chatting about the ocean. And then there was you and Levi, in the middle of the group, in complete silence. You felt awkward as you rode silently, but you tried your best to tune in on others conversations so you could forget about it.

"What do you think the ocean is like (l/n)?" Levi suddenly asked. You turned your head over to him, and furrowed your eyebrows.

"You're asking me a question? Well, this is new..." You smirked. He rolled his eyes in annoyance and tch'd'.

"Don't get used to it, I'm just trying to break the silence." He replied while sending you a death glare. You thought for a moment, trying to imagine the beauty of the ocean, as you stared ahead. You finally turned back to Levi and smiled.

"I think it's a huge place, full of new species, and sparkling water that glistens in the sun." You answered. Levi raised an eyebrow and turned back to face forward.

"Interesting." He said calmly. You chuckled and admired the scenery of the outside world, it was so much more beautiful now...thanks to humanities victory. No more titans, no more worries.

~*Time Skip*~

"OHMAGOSHWEREHERE!!!" Sasha shouted a bit too fast to understand. Everyone looked ahead, to see a huge pool of water, that seemed to never end. Hanji was screaming and jumping up and down on her horse, while everyone admired the sight.

"It's so beautiful.." Armin whispered to himself.

"I never thought I'd live to see something so breathtaking."

"I feel so relaxed..." Eren added. Mikasa nodded and smiled slightly under her red scarf.

"Wow, what do you think Levi?" You questioned the cold man. He remained silent and stared off into the distance. You could tell he enjoyed it, there was something different in his eyes, he seemed...relaxed. You decided to leave him be, as your group got closer to the ocean.

Once you all had finally arrived, Hanji fell off her horse, face planting into the burning hot sand below. "OOOOWWW it's hot! Definitely hot!" She screamed, but still dug her fingers into the sand, feeling the tiny grains.

"Idiot." Levi insulted while jumping off his horse, along with everyone else. The first thing you did was sprint towards the water, and stare at it, as the waves washed over your boots. You giggled like a child, and bent down so you could touch it. You flinched as your fingertips met the freezing cold water, but you slowly lowered your hand into it, making it rise to your wrist. Armin came up next to you, and watched as you splashed the water lightly. His eyes were full of curiosity and wonder, as he too bent down and poked at the water. Soon, everyone around you started to experiment with the water, as it rose and fell across the sand.

Erwin and Levi stayed behind and watched all you awe over the beauty. Erwin turned to Levi and pushed him forward. "Come on Levi, go out there. It's time to start living life." And with that, Erwin walked away and towards everyone else. Levi stood there, while looking out to the ocean. He took a deep breath in, and took off his cape, setting it on his horse. You looked behind you, and saw him walking towards you. You grinned and stood up, while he stopped in front of you.

"Hi Levi." You whispered. He closed his eyes, and you could make out a slight smile that appeared on his lips. You poked the corner of his lips as your eyes widen. He shot his eyes open at the sudden touched and stared at your hand. "Are...Are you smiling!?" You yelled. Everyone suddenly stopped what they were doing and looked at the two of you. Levi shot them all a death glare, sending shivers down their spine. They all looked away quickly, and continued to mess with the sand and water.

"Shut up brat." He whispered harshly, then hitting your hand away. You pouted as he walked pass you and towards the group. He bent down between Eren and Hanji and stared at the water in front of him.

Hanji looked at him, and smiled mischievously. Eren noticed this and shook his head towards the crazy scientist. She nodded her head quickly and raised her hand behind Levi. Before he could react, Hanji pushed him forward, sending him face planting into the water soaked sand. She laughed hysterically as she fell onto her back, while holding her stomach. Eren's eyes widen as he quickly scooted away. You stared at the sight of Levi pulling his head out of the sand, the front of his black hair soaked with water. You chuckled in your hand and turned away, trying to hold back your laugh. He then went up to the crazy woman that was still laughing her ass off, and stared at her for a moment. He seemed hesitant at first, but he soon growled and walked away.

Wow, no punishment? You asked yourself. He stomped over to Erwin and stood behind him, while whispering something you could only make out bits and pieces of. Something like, "You're lucky I didn't stomp her ass into the ground-" and, "-at least I'm trying." You sighed and walked over to Sasha and Connie, who found some sort of swirly looking rock. You bent forward trying to make out the item, as they spun in in their fingertips. They seemed to notice your presence as they looked up and smiled.

"Look (y/n)! We found this weird looking thing! It's white with orange strips, and it has some sort of hollowed out hole on the bottom, do you know what it is?" Connie questioned. You shook your head and put your fingers on your chin.

"No, but why don't you ask Hanji?" You suggested. They both looked at each other and smiled brightly.  

"Great idea!" They shouted in sync. They ran pass you, and to the other side, where Hanji was located. You crossed your arms over your chest and looked towards the horizon. You smiled softly and took in the beauty of the ocean. You then felt the presence of a certain shorty, and even though you were only tiny bit shorter then him, you still couldn't help but call him short.

"Beautiful isn't is?" You said breathlessly. He just nodded and stared off with you. You then suddenly felt a huge splash of cold water soak you and Levi, as you looked ahead to see Jean.

"What the fuck horseface? What was that for?!" You screamed before Levi could. Jean held a bucket in his hands, as he dropped it on the sand and ran away while laughing wickedly. You huffed as you took off your survey corps cloak, and jacket, then throwing it behind you.

"What're you planning to do (y/n)?" Levi questioned while ringing out his clothes.

"Well, since I'm already soaked, might as well make the most of it." You grinned as you took of your boots, then throwing them behind you as well. He raised an eyebrow as he watched you run into the water, splashing everyone, including Erwin. You kicked and spun around, until everyone was equally as drenched as you, then making them join in. Eren was the first to get up, followed by Mikasa and Armin. While Sasha, Connie, and Jean started to attack Hanji with water, making her fall back and make a huge splash. Erwin looked at you with complete shock, before throwing his cloak and jacket with the others, then running towards the the four of you, tackling you all down. Levi's mouth hung open in surprise, as he watched his commander having fun. You looked at Levi, signaling him to join in.

"Tch."

You groaned and ran towards him, while your whole body dripped with water. He backed up a bit, before you grabbed his wrist firmly, dragging him towards the water. "Come on Heichou, if Erwin can have fun, so can you." He dug his heels into the sand, but nothing was going to stop you from getting him to finally loosen up. You tugged on him one last time, flinging him forward, causing him to lose his balance and fall into the shallow end of the water, where everyone was splashing. You chuckled as he quickly stood up, sending you, 'You're so going to die' look. You giggled and lunged towards him, making him fall backwards once again, and into the water. You got up off him as quickly as possible, so you wouldn't drown him, as he sat up and looked at you, sitting on your knees beside him. You grinned playfully, and waited for his reaction.

"I'm going to kill you (l/n)." He quietly said, making you chuckle as he took off his boot and stared to hit you in the head with it. It wasn't painful, so you just sat there in the water with your hands over your head, laughing loudly. He then stopped, and started to walk back towards the shore. You huffed while standing up, following him closely behind.

"Come on Levi, don't tell me your mad at me!" You barked. He ruffled his hair, while walking a safe distance away from the scene where everyone was still splashing each other.  He stayed silent as you groaned at him for being so...well...annoying. "Leeevviiii...." You complained. He turned around looking at you with harsh, cold eyes.

"What do you want brat?" He said, obviously ticked off. You moved a piece of wet hair away from your face as you crossed your arms.

"You know what, I know you like it. You're just trying to hide that fact that you do, so that you don't ruin your reputation of being the 'cold and serious' type." He tch'd and walked farther away from you. You sighed and grabbed his wet shirt from behind. "Levi.." You said in a low whisper. He seemed to relax as he turned to face you once again.

"What." He bluntly said.

"Look...Everything is going to be okay.." You took a few steps towards him, wrapping your arms around his body, then resting your head on his shoulder. "We...We won, you need to stop being so cold all the damn time and for once...be happy." He stayed silent as seemed to think of a response.

"Why should I?" He questioned. You smiled against his black hair and kissed his cheek softly. He seemed to be unfazed by it, but you could tell deep down, he was surprised.

"Because.." You paused and pointed up to the sky. He looked up with you and stared aimlessly into the clouds. "...You are now free from those beast, and those people died for humanities one mission, are you going to let them down, by staying in the past, and not living in the present?" He seemed to be caught off guard by your words, as he looked down. You smiled, knowing you got something through to him, as you patted him on the shoulder and took a step back. He stared at you, now with soft black eyes. He smirked and grabbed your waist, pulling you in for a kiss. You were taken by surprise at first, but you soon relaxed, and let him kiss you gently. He released and stared into your (e/c) orbs.

"Am I living in the present now?" He questioned. You smirked and pushed him away playfully.

"Not until you we have a water fight." You could make out a small smile in the corner of his lips, and this time, he smiled for real. You grinned as you grabbed his hand and led him back to the water.

"Thank you (y/n)." He whispered into your ear. You smiled as you ruffled his hair.

"Don't thank me, thank them." You pointed up to the sky once again. He looked up and smirked towards you.

"Right..." He drifted off.

"Thank you."
